-Gibson's-
***CLOSED***
Review:
Gibson’s has shown great promise over the years but as times have changed and the focus of the industry has turned to authentic real ale customer driven quality they seem to have been somewhat left behind. With fake peeling plaster effect on the walls and minimal seating give the place a dingy and sparse atmosphere which isn’t particularly helped by the rowdy clientele. With just very poor generic keg beers available it isn’t even that good value for money, which seems strange as it’s clearly aimed at grungy students. The only redeeming feature we can see is their rather impressive long courtyard which could be very pleasant in the summer, but other than that it’s really not somewhere we’d ever return to. Let’s hope that someone takes the initiative to change the place around as it was once such a friendly vibrant pub which now seems solely focused on naff drinks for student which might be persuaded in by their regular live music gigs.
