Review:
Harkers is set within a converted Victorian Bank on St Helen’s Square, impressive architecture with very high ceilings doesn’t always make for the best acoustics but it does look bloody lovely and they’ve developed the bar to suit the environment very well. They have an average range of beers at a reasonable price, and being another Nicholson’s pub the standards are very high. The toilets are situated in the basement and are very well presented with traditional but classy tiled walls, accessibility can be a bit of an issue for this reason though, as with the steep entrance steps but with a spacious environment and plenty of big comfy seating you can see why they are frequently so busy. There’s not much in the way of outside space though just a few seats at street level, one of the only things letting the score down a little. Harkers has always been a favourite of ours and continues to hold in as a great all round public house.
