-Pairings Wine Bar-
Review:
Pairings is a refreshingly different kind of bar, one which is focused on matching great charcuterie with good wines and at this I’ve heard they excel. With us not really being wine drinkers it would be unfair to judge but the free nibbles we received were amazing. We were still able to choose from a couple of bottled real ales but the prices were very high. Despite this we loved the modern urban Parisian shabby chic style of this simple open plan bar, especially the friendly staff and table service. Laid out like a café with a deli-come-bar to the bottom left hand side, it’s warmly lit against grey walls, wooden floors and a concrete ceiling. Access to the bar is just a step up but the toilets are situated underground down a very long corridor with single male and female, the finish is nice, very square, clean and modern. There is no outside area but a cosy low level of good music makes it a very peaceful and welcoming bar. If there were more option on the beer available or even keg then it would certainly have scored higher, it’s not really our scene but if you’re into your wine and cocktails matched along with some fine meats and cheeses then it’s definitely worth checking out.
