Review:
The Punch Bowl on Stonegate is a wonderful traditional pub steeped in history with a distinct Tudor exterior which follows through into the narrow passage that leads to three separate cosy rooms. All low beamed ceilings and charming character. The bar is accessible from two of the rooms and stocks a wide selection of beers at a good price, as with most Nicholson’s pubs. Although a snug fit the whole pub is pretty easily accessible and there are plenty of seats tucked away here and there. Everything is very well presented and although the outside space is only a small area under the eaves at the front if you can get a seat it’s a pleasant enough spot to watch the hustle and bustle of Stonegate, definitely worth a visit.
